Bail for Alex Sanchez!

It can take a long time, but sometimes moving through the system and keeping hope and faith alive brings great results! Alex Sanchez was granted bail yesterday.

This will allow him to remain close to his family while he prepares for the trial, which will begin in October. (His family lost their home in all of this.)

After being admonished by the 9th Circuit court, Judge Real reopened Alex Sanchez' bail hearing and this time, listening intently and following up on important questions, the judge saw fit to grant bail. As I was unable to attend this session, I don't know any more that that.

Many thanks to those who kept Alex in your thoughts during this time.

  1. Dear Shelly,
Hello, there, Shelly! What wonderful news this is that Alex Sanchez has received his much deserved and long overdue bail! I have been thinking of and praying for this marvelous man very frequently, and I will continue to do so. This is absolutely unfair and horrifying that Alex and his family have lost their home due to all of this unfairness and maltreatment against them. Alex and his family deserve so much better!

I have been looking up a lot of information like from the Internet about Alex Sanchez, and his case. I can tell from all of the info which I have researched on Alex and his case just how remarkable of a man he is, and of all the great good he has done with his life and outreach. I am so impressed with this great man. His entire life shows the power of redemption, and turning one's past life into something so special and good!

Shelly, I am so happy, I just found out that your remarkable 2nd Edition of Witnessing Whiteness is about to be shipped to me here where I live in Iowa City, Iowa. I am so filled with eager anticipation to receive this great book of yours which I have bought, and I will read it with much interest and learning enjoyment, and I will study in a very thorough manner. I can't wait until it arrives, I am very excited and very much looking forward to receiving it!

Shelly, thank-you so much for all of your sharing on Alex Sanchez, for all of your blogging, and for all of the great work and advocacy you do with such sincerity and dedication, and hard work. This means so much to me as a black/African-American woman who I am! You and all of our other white-antiracist white women sisters and friends, and white men are so valuable and do such superb good in the quest for racial justice. I appreciate your work and advocacy, and all of our other white anti-racists so much and so dearly! Blessings so much to you for always, Shelly!

    Sincerely always,

    Sherry Gordon

  2. Hi Sherry,
Thanks for your comments! I always appreciate reading them. Just keep in mind --- it's a second edition of the same book! There is new info in there and worth reading, but the vast majority is the same material as was in the first. Happy reading!
    Shelly
